Color gets an emotional response from people and can really affect how you look or will be perceived. Most of us have a favorite color. The colors we choose have always been intimately tied to how we’re feeling – we ‘feel blue’, ‘turn green with envy’ or get ‘red hot with anger’.

Whatever the case, your preferred color can reveal a lot about what makes you tick. And the same holds true for the people you date you’d probably have a different impression of a date if he or she said, “My favorite color is yellow” versus “My favorite color is black.” That’s because color speaks a powerful, silent language.

1. RED

The color of passion, strength, courage, health and vitality. It is also a primal color, since it represents primal urges, like lust (“I must have you now!”) and fury (you know the phrase “seeing red,” right?). Red people are usually optimistic and can’t stand monotony, they are rather restless and not all introspective, and so they may be unaware of their own shortcomings. Red is usually chosen by people with open and uncomplicated natures, with a zest for life.



Understanding people who love it: They act sometimes without thinking on immediate desires. In fact, they’re usually the poster children for immediate gratification. It’s up to you if you go for it to proceed with caution. People who love red are sexy, outgoing, aggressive, vigorous and impulsive. Quiet people with a preference for red may feel the need for the warmth, strength and life-giving qualities of the color, or they blanket their true feelings under a sober exterior.

4. YELLOW

Now, if you’re dating someone whose favorite hue is yellow, make sure to jump in and share stories about yourself, since this person may not give you much room. 5. GREEN

What’s more, green is a nice-person color, a “do-good, be-good” kind of color. This person has a warm heart. Passion is probably in there somewhere, buried under their integrity and honor.

Lovers of Green are affectionate, loyal friend who is inclined to be frank and moral. Reputation is very important to them and when they start something, they finish it. They are usually refined, civilized and reputable.

6. BLUE

Blue is a color of clarity, tranquility, communications, royalty, authority, knowledge and charm. Understanding people who love it: they never run out of anything to say, expression is their strong suit. You always know where you stand with them. Like white, black is a combination of all colors, but instead of purity, it represents the unknown, the unseen — mystery. Lovers of black are dignified and impressive without being showy. This preference may also indicate a suppression of desires, worldly aims thus suggesting hidden depths and inner longings.
 


Understanding people who love it: If your favorite color is black, you are more hush-hush than high-strung in nature. The silence of this color lets others fill in the blanks. Black says, “I’m not telling you anything.” People who love black can be tough nuts to crack, but quite possibly worth the effort. Black also exudes elegance.
