Guys, You there? just checking because this is solely for you and yours – this is not the Sandra bullock type of ‘the proposal, this is for real.
Are you ready to get married or ready to get hitched to the love of your life? This is a serious question to answer, and it will take significant time and energy if you ask right and so will your significant other, to answer right. Some people have made the decision in their life that it's time to get married, or they see a future in committed relationships. If you want to tie the knot, you first start with dating and grow to a relationship, and then lead to a courtship/proposal that will lead to marriage. You should not get too overwhelmed with the idea of proposing, yet what you should do is figure out a way, and come up with a plan before you're ready to pop the question. Getting married isn't easy for everyone, and neither is popping the question, yet it's important to do it in the proper manner so that your soul mate (or the one you're with you believe is the one) can say yes in the proper way. Beyond popping the question, finding the soul mate goes beyond getting the ring, the flowers, or whatever it may be for your significant other and this special occasion. Popping the question takes serious commitment, thought, and it's also important to be in the right place at the right time, so that your significant other feels comfortable to say yes to your marriage proposal. And,with all that said and done, it's now time to pop the question if you're ready! This guide on How to propose will take you through the process, in a step by step fashion until you hear that magic little word: Yes!

We can all think of typical ways of asking our lovely girlfiends or fiancé’s to marry us…The man gets down on one knee and gets out a box with an engagement ring (probably worth a month's salary…) before asking her to spend the rest of her life by his side’, boring!!
This traditional way of proposing still works yea, though has been categorized as the conventional way of asking a woman to marry you. These days, women want to be mesmerized with emotion, romanticism, originality, creativity and not necessarily in that order either.
Read this two romantic short stories below and then learn a few new ways, a mix of both innovative and more traditional ways to pop the question.
· Ivie and Ope both work for a wedding magazine (among other ventures), so it's no wonder their wedding proposal was so romantic.
From ivie: "ope had planned it for like 4 weeks completely unknown to me, of course. It was on our 5th year anniversary of dating, he took me down to the cinema to see a movie .
Uknown to me he had seen the movie before and at about 11 mins to the end he stepped out only to come in as the movie just ended…. Guess what happened, oops...
As we walked into the parking lot and I felt completely confused wondering why he was very quiet! I was so uncomfortable because he never really goes out to see movies. As we got to the door he tells me to close my eyes ... that's when I KNEW IT! And of course I started to tear up and on opening it I saw my love on his knee asking me to marry him. It was the best night of my life, the "Will you marry me?" were the sweetest words i ever heard - sweetest words EVER(to a woman though)."
· My fiancé proposed to me in my sleep. We had been discussing marriage after only a few months of dating. He knew that I would suspect any type of date or invitation. So one week, when I just happened to be sick, he brought me drugs to help me sleep. I woke up in the middle of the night and he was not next to me. He was sitting in the dark in the kitchen. I asked him if something was wrong and sat down next to him in the dark, still groggy from the malaria. I ran my hand through my hair and felt something move on my finger. It was then that I realized what it was. I was crying and laughing at the same time. He turned on the lights, got down on both knees and asked me to marry him at about 3am in the morning. I was so happy I couldn’t sleep through the night infact the malaria disappeared because of my excitement. He then held me as I cried myself to sleep in happiness.. that’s not all o’,I called my mother at 4am of course! Lol, before nko.
Here are a few pointers that have worked in the past -
1. To the extreme
If your woman is the fantasy type, you can propose to her from the heights of a mountain after a day of gyming and aerobics.
2. Make a video
Making a personal video of yourself proposing to her can have a great effect, especially if you are watching it with her. She will likely jump from joy and want to skip straight to the honeymoon...
3. In mid-air - A more public display of affection is to have the captain of an airplane you are on recite your marriage proposal to your woman over the intercom or webcam conversation (if a party is oversees). You can just picture it: "We are now flying over the Namywedding Rocks J and will be arriving at our destination in approximately 45 minutes but before landing, the pilots, the whole crew with the rest of the passengers will like to know if you Joan, would do Emeka the honor of marrying him". OMG can you just imagine what will happen***
Of course, after this, all you should hope for is a "yes" and a safe landing of course...lol.
4. My way or the highway
Just imagine driving home from work and seeing a billboard that says "Lucy, will you marry me?" This will have an amplified effect, and the rest of the commuters who see it will hope it works out for you.
Or planting a poster by her garage or door knob reading “will you marry me”, she’ll loose all days stress immediately.
They will also hope that she doesn't slam the brakes in excitement J.
5. Marriage on the big screen - Let's say you agreed to go see the movie,”The proposal”, and right before the movie is about to start, as part of the previews, one frame action simply displays the words: "Gbubemi, will you be my wife?"
6. Do it the old fashioned way, get down on one knee and with the ring in one hand and maybe rose in the other, make your request known to her.
7. Have a waiter bring her food with the ring in it. (be careful she doesn’t swallow it sha J)
8. Show up at her office for lunch with a bottle of wine and the ring with or through a post master
9. Pour her a glass of wine or juice with the ring in it and when she drinks it she’ll find the ring at the bottom – “hopefully...that’s if she doesn’t drink it too, lol.
10. Take your girl to the beach and write “will you marry me” on the sand that she sees it.
11. Higher a plane to fly a banner reading ‘will you marry me’ (for the rich, I guess)
12. Call your local station to help pop the question on your behalf over the air waves at the time you know she’ll be listening, then dedicate a love song to her.
13. Gather friends and family and then propose to her right at the mid beginning turning it into your engagement party.
14. create a webpage of your pix and favorites, photo’s and life together then send request with web address to her and await her response so you can then forward it to your family and friends
15. Wrap a large box and put in smaller boxes for her to unwrap till she gets to the ring probably with a note in it written if you’ll marry me please call me” J
16. Take him or her out or away for a weekend and on the last day propose.
17. Give her a foot massage and place the ring on her little to.
18. Propose in French ‘the language of love’
19. Buy your loved one a watch or durable gift and have on it inscribed ‘will you marry me or spend the rest of your life with me’..
20. Write her your love story, almost like a diary with dates if you can remember and in it state your proposal and leave a column where she would be able write her reply.
If you do or have done any of these … please send us your romantic proposal story that will get us on the floor dreaming…
i love nos. 2 & 4 ....its so out of this world.
