WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Wedding Photographs are memories for a lifetime and you would not want to miss capturing every special shot.
Wedding photography is the photography of activities relating to weddings. It encompasses photographs of the couple before marriage (for announcements, portrait displays, souvenirs or thank you cards) as well as coverage of the wedding (traditional and formal) and reception. The emphasis in wedding photography is to capture the story and atmosphere from the day, so the viewer has an appreciation of what the wedding was like.
Choosing a photographer that is right for you!
You can determine this in two folds: Performance during the wedding and after the wedding. This means you want to opt for personality and professionalism (day of) and great photographs (after) and should hopefully get you the best of both worlds.
Tips to making a good choice
· Meet your wedding photographer and get to know him/her
· Make sure they work well with others
· Make sure your photographer produces consistent results.
· When money is an issue, choose better photos over extra post (like more prints, albums, etc.)
In wedding Photography, there are photos that are keepers. These are the photos which will stay in the family photo albums or will be hang on a wall for decades. So you need to take care of getting them right and perfect.
Documenting the different stages of the wedding:
A big part of wedding photography consists of documenting the different stages of the wedding. This includes the newlyweds getting ready, (with the hairdresser, wearing the dress and the suit) the actual wedding ceremony, the reception etc.
You need a professional photographer (get referrals) that knows the intricacies involved in a wedding ceremony and can capture all the different moments of this special day.
Tell your photographer to note when the atmosphere is looser and more relaxed (usually after the main ceremony) and use the opportunity to get some close ups and some candid shots of the different situations he/she will find (tears, smiles and hugs).
Wedding Albums
There are a wide variety of albums available - traditional matted albums, digitally designed "coffee table" albums, contemporary flush mount albums, hardbound books, scrapbook style albums, or a combination of any of the above.
Albums may be included as part of a pre-purchased package, or they may be added as an after-wedding purchase. Not all photographers provide albums; some may prefer to provide prints and/or files and let clients make their own albums (this is has gradually been faded-out). Most photographers also allow clients to purchase additional prints for themselves or their families.

Photographs Checklist
Majority of the wedding photographers have their standard checklist. Ensure you go through their list and feel free to add/suggest shots you might want as keepsakes.
Make sure you print one when planning your wedding as a guide.
Photo tip – Have a roller banner made with your picture and let guests take the outdoor pictures on a red carpet against the banner (it is new, exciting, very memorable and unique).
Your wedding is a one in a lifetime event and you can make the memories last forever by adopting what will work best for you from the checklist.
If you are married, let us know the shots you missed or were not captured during your wedding ceremony.
Have fun!!!
