Men's fashion has always been a mild affair when compared to the vast, extravagant and over-the-top antics of the Female fashion, but this year men have much to rejoice about with lots of interesting trends that span the past and the present. The Spring 2011 Men's Daywear trends range from monochromatic colors, black and white with hints of the 80’s done with a twist and a nod to footwear, belts, ties, cravats as the accessories.
Accessories can be coordinated with the wedding colors or can be black, whatever is preferred. Colors weren't the typical bright colors associated with this springs fashion combo, but more subdued hues like olive, tan, Army green and off-white. Linen was seen in many collections ranging from shirts to pants to shorts to even sweaters and outerwear.

A man’s wedding is one of the most important days of his life. While most of the attention tends to get centered on the bride, the groom should take the opportunity to look the best he has ever looked. Whenever a wedding is planned, make sure that the other men in the wedding party are not copies of the groom. They should be dressed in such a way that is complementary to the groom but will not upstage him in the slightest. For a traditional formal wedding, a sharp, well-fitting tuxedo with a tie, vest, and formal shirt is ideal for the groom. Pants can be finished with a satin trim and can be pleated or have a flat front.

The mixture of black and white still remains the dominant trend seen as by many designers. While the skinny/sleek straight look is still very prevalent in many of the collections, some designers chose to offer a looser fit evoking a more relaxed sensibility and less of a tough exterior. Perhaps a response to the upswing in the economy, certain designers felt that men could still look put together, but with less edge.

Styles
Tuxedo- The classic black tuxedo will never go out of fashion. Every year new styles appear but the black tuxedo is an everlasting symbol of elegance, grace and sophistication. If you wear black formal wear, it need not be traditional. Show off your style with a choice of colorful vest and ties. Gold accessories are particularly striking when matched with a black tuxedo. Black tuxedo is the right choice for any formal wear occasion especially the wedding.

Morning Suit - The traditional morning suit (called so because weddings used to be held in the morning) is a formal jacket with long tails in black, navy, grey or brown, teamed with pin striped trousers in the same or complimentary colours. A traditional cravat can look most effective, although some men will prefer a traditional formal tie to complete the look.

"Classic Suit" remains classic it does so by update in cut and style which means that the classic five year old suit ages when the designers add words like, modern, slim, sleek and light weight, to their fashion designs.

But 2011 revamps the single breasted suit which has not left the fashion scene, with a sleek cut which is the "New Classic" whereby creating a masculine silhouette that emphasis the word "modern." Trousers are slim and jackets are designed to complement the male physique, by broadening shoulders and giving the appearance of a trim waist. Fabrics consist of wool, a traditional classic for suits, linen and cotton which are both light weight, and although prone to creases, still remain top choices for destination and summer time suits.
Velvet, yes" velvet" is the latest in suit material, with blue velvet being a huge trend setter for 2011.

Difference between The Tuxedo and the Normal classic suit
The tuxedo is a man's dress suit of clothes in the semi-formal, black tie evening dress convention. The jacket should be black wool, single breasted. The jacket has peaked, shawl, notch, or trick lapels (which includes Mandarin and other none conventional styles) traditionally covered with satin and more modern styles are trimmed in grosgrain or wool. The buttons should be satin-covered. Trousers should be in the same wool as the jacket, with the side seams decorated in an inch-wide satin ribbon matching the lapel. The shirt is white with linked cuffs. The shirt may be pleated with a turn-down collar and French or barrel cuffs, or have a pique bib front with either a turn-down collar and French cuffs or a wing collar and barrel cuffs. Tradition dictates a black bow tie complimenting the lapels, cummerbund or low-cut 3-button waistcoat, and patent leather oxford shoes appropriately accessorize the tuxedo; however a more modern look has been to go with a full 5 or 6 button vest matching the color of a dates dress with a 4-in-hand tie of the same color.

The normal suit of clothes is a garment, originated in England, that is crafted from the same cloth. The English word suit derives from the French suivre, "to follow", i.e. trousers and waistcoat follow the coat's cloth and color. Its variants, lounge suit, business suit, three-piece suit, and two-piece suit denote garments the design, cut, and cloth of which determine their social and work suitability. Generally, the man's suit of clothes comprises the suit, itself, a collared shirt, necktie, and a hat. Yet, throughout the 20th century, the hat fell from the mainstream of men's fashion, to the purview of the dandy.

White suits are back in, but on a more formal level, where colored accessories add additional panache to the overall look.

If you’re getting married on the beach, it is a good idea that the men dress elegantly, but still dress to the scene. It’s actually out of place to be married on a beach in a black suit – not to mention hot! Suits should be lightweight and light colored. The best material for this is fine quality, light weight wool. It’s the coolest and most crease resistant. Microfiber will look great but will be a bit hot, while cotton and linen will crease and look terrible in the heat.

Having a morning or afternoon summer wedding? Go for lighter fabrics and soft colors. You want a more relaxed look for these kinds of weddings. If you think you are overdressed, then just wear the pants and a nice shirt, and forget the jacket and tie. This way you look great and casually formal, but if it’s a church wedding, keep the jacket and tie. A wedding that is held in fall or winter will require that you wear darker colors and use more sophisticated fabrics. Remember that if the wedding says to dress casual, you should dress as you would for a casual business meeting, in casual dress pants, nice shoes, and a casual dress shirt. Never take it to mean jeans and sneakers!

Special Cases - Be aware of your Complexion
The traditional men's suit colors of black, gray, and navy remain viable options for all but the most high-contrast complexions, as most of the decisions related to complexion surround shirts, ties, and accessories, rather than suits. For this reason most gentlemen will have little to fear as long as the chosen suit is in one of the traditional colors. Very high-contrast individuals, however, including those with very dark hair matched with fair skin like the particular African-American skin tones, require a bit more care, as the wrong color suit can dampen the wearer's features or even make them seem to disappear outright. The fair and dark-haired gentlemen will do well to favor dark, rich suits which frame his light features between the dark jacket and hair; light colored suits, including pale grays and tans, will serve to diminish his features. African-American men may fare better in dark or light suits, depending on their particular skin tone; a dark suit with a light colored shirt provides excellent contrast for the very dark-toned gentleman, while a more muted shirt and tie with a dark suit helps to give the more medium-toned wearer a warm look. Finally, the light-toned man may be best served by light colored suits in earth-tones, which will harmonize more readily with his lower-contrast complexion.
