Formal-dresses

Are you getting married this year; then you should know the 2011 wedding color trends as it will help you in planning your wedding and creating a look that will be memorable. Your wedding is one of the most anticipated and important day in your life and you will no doubt want to look elegant and spectacular. One good way to do this is to plan as early as possible and at the same time pay attention to the current trends. When you have a wedding theme in mind it becomes easier for you to plan your wedding around it.

Always use a combination of trendy colors instead of one single color for your wedding. This makes your wedding decoration look more gorgeous and creates more impact. Go with your heart and make your special day visually appealing while reflecting your personal creativity.

We have compiled a list of wedding colors for 2011 which will hopefully suit your personality:

Wedding Color Mix

Watermelon Pink and Tangerine:

One of the most popular wedding colors for 2011 is the color watermelon pink. It ideally should be combined with red and tangerine. This wedding color combination looks great and has great scope as far as using them in wedding decoration goes. For the wedding invitation cards, you can choose an off white wedding card with black calligraphy writing and a watermelon pink colored pattern in it, like a rose or peony. Tie the wedding invitation card with a narrow tangerine colored ribbon.

You can dress the bridesmaid in short knee length strapless dresses in a beautiful tangerine or watermelon pink. Wedding flowers can be pink and orange roses.

You can also try Hot pink, Fuchsia, Light pink, Red, add Lime or Tangerine as your accent.

Lilac and Brown:

Another wedding color scheme in 2011 that is going to make a statement is lilac and brown. You can create wedding centerpieces with deep purple, violet and lilac. Tie these with brown colored satin ribbons for a very polished look. Bridesmaid dresses can be a deep lilac accented with chocolate colored sash and accessories. Wedding invitations can also be in lilac or purple color with brown colored trim. Lilac is a bright and sophisticated color which is suitably combined with rich and earthy chocolate brown to make a great wedding color theme

Green and Aquamarine:

Another good wedding color combination is green and aquamarine. These two colors look great together. Pristine white wedding invitations with a leaf pattern and adorned with aqua ribbons will complete the look. Bridesmaid dresses can be a long floor length gown in aquamarine with all white accessories. Table settings and table centerpieces should also have accents of both green and aquamarine.

Lavender(Pantone 15-3817)and Red :

Purple has been a popular wedding color long before brides starting focusing on wedding themes. Lavender is muted enough that your groom won’t mind the purple details. One of the unusual wedding color ideas that are trendy this year is a combination of red and lavender. The whimsical and soft lavender color is suitably offset with bright red. Red gives a burst of energy and vitality to your wedding décor. Choose lavender colored table linen with red trimmings for a beautiful table setting. Bridesmaid dresses can either be red with lavender accents or a soft lavender colored strapless dress in chiffon. Wedding bouquets and centerpieces can be assembled with red roses and lavender.

You can also try Lilac, Lavender, Periwinkle, Silver, metallic ash, Purple, add Sky Blue as an accent.

Gold and Teal Blue:

2011 wedding colors that are hot right now is a combination of gold and teal blue. Gold gives your wedding decorations and opulence that no other color can. Teal blue is a soothing color that has the right amount of punch and works really well with gold. Use gold organza fabrics for wedding decorations and teal blue colored seating cards. Flowers like blue irises, orchids and lilies should be used for the wedding bouquet and centerpiece. Teal blue and gold are great color schemes for weddings.
Try Deep Ocean Blue, Navy Blue, Sky Blue, Periwinkle, add Tangerine, Silver or Sandy Brown as your accent.

Single Colors for 2011

Honeysuckle (Pantone 18-2120): It’s the prettiest shade of pink you can get and it’s perfect for girly bride whose groom won’t mind the ultra-fem hue. It looks just as gorgeous when paired with beige and chocolate brown as it does with equally bold colors like orange.

Coral Rose (Pantone 16-1349): stand out from the pack and incorporate this vibrant shade of orange into your wedding theme. You can mix with brown or navy blue.

Beeswax (Pantone 14-0941): Yellow is one of those colors that instantly perks people up. Beeswax isn’t as sunny as some shades of Yellow, but it’s just as delightful. Use it to enliven every detail of your wedding day.

Regatta (Pantone 18-4039):
This fabulous shade of blue will bring out any color you choose to mix it with. If you are the vibrant bride try with red or you can tone down with pink. Blue Curacao (Pantone 15-4825): This is a one of mine favorite and a perfect hue for any bride, no matter your skin tone. The Blue-green tone is reminiscent of the ocean. This is a shade that can be used as a stand-alone or paired with silver or peapod. (Image is a combination of Regatta & Blue Curacao)

Peapod (Pantone 14-6324):

If you like green, then this pale shade is perfect for you. It pairs well with neutral colors like gray and it will also look lovely when pair with pink or purple.

Silver Peony (Pantone 12-1206): this shade of pink is cool and pale enough not to scare your groom and a perfect compromise. You can combine with blue or red.

Russet Brown (Pantone 18-1235): This is one of the highly popular color because it blends with any shade from pink to green or wine.

Orange:

Many people are not aware that orange makes a fantastic wedding color. In fact, it is so versatile you can use it with a variety of colors - Tangerine, Coral, and Red, add soft Violet, Sky Blue or Fuchsia as your accent color.

Burgundy (Wine): With this, any of the following colours Dark Green, Gold, Champagne, Creams, Silver can be added as your accent.

Using a combination of these colors in your wedding decorations and wedding flowers can create a look that is trendy, fashionable and chic. Create a great ambiance you will most certainly cherish forever.
