Okrika Traditional Wedding

Hello everyone! Your site has been a real blessing to me, your articles, questions, just superb! And now I really need your help.
My fiance and I plan to get married November this year but I got challenge. I lost my Mum in 2007 and it always makes me cry every time I see jubilant Moms dancing with their daughters at their weddings. So I've thinking of how best to honour my Mother or at least her memory on my wedding day. My Mom's from Okrika land (similar to kalabari) in Rivers State and I had the idea of at least dressing up as an Okrika bride.
But I have no ideas on how to do it and how to incorporate it into my wedding! I'm really confused.
I want to know what the dressing is like, what their traditional wedding entails, the whole process and how I can incorporate it on my day! I'm marrying a yoruba man, and I'm also a yoruba girl, but i think my Dad would really not mind if I put the idea across to him, but I really got to make it logical and attractive.
So please everyone, I really NEED your help. You are like my last chance here! Thank you.

It is a very good idea if you can dress up to honour your late mother. You can also ask the MC or Pastor at your wedding reception to allow the guests observe a 1 minute silence in honour of your late mother. That would be very nice. I am sure some of your mother's family will be able to tell you how you can dress and what you can do. You can also, if you have any beads,Jewellery, necklaces belonging 2 your mum.It would be wonderful if u can use one or some of them. I wish you the best of luck and all Godsblessing. I know your late mum will be watching over you. So enjoy your day.
